Weekend Writing Warriors #123

Hi and welcome to this week's eight sentences.
I'm starting a new story today and taking a snippet from my 'Fevered Kisses' anthology' this comes from the first story in the antho' 'Between the Pages', enjoy:
                 My Snippet:
Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought about what Sean had said. It was the usual cliché about living your life because you only have one, you know the sort of thing. But cliché or not it worked, it was just enough to make me go through with it otherwise I probably wouldn’t have. Everything changed from that point on. I suddenly started thinking of myself as a sexual being, someone who needed sex as much as anyone else. Oh, I know I’m attractive, I’ve seen guys look at me everywhere I go. But that was them. Somehow I felt aloof, immune, wrapped in my own life of so called normality.

  1. I like it, Gemma. A candid slice of introspection. I think we've all been there, that moment of realization. It's really empowering, isn't it? And you've done a wonderful job of writing that. :-)

  5. I love how her realization grew out of a cliche. That's often the way it is; old saying keep getting repeated because of the truth lurking under the familiar words.

  6. Now let's see where she's going to go with this.
