Weekend Writing Warriors #45


Hi Everyone and welcome to this week's Eight sentences! I am sharing another eight from 'Christmas Delights' my Christmas anthology. Last week I shared the opening lines of one of the stories 'The Christmas Guest'. This week I have jumped forward a few paragraphs to where a Christmas temp has joined Leanne in the office. He seems to have no interest at all in her until she catches him...

              MY EIGHT:  
As she leaned over the filing cabinet however Leanne glanced to her right and once again noticed Mike’s steady gaze burning into her thighs.
The skirt she wore today was knee length, a pencil skirt of charcoal grey. Leanne hated tights and underneath wore her usual stockings. She realised that it was the outline of the small bumps attaching the stockings to her suspender belt that were holding Mike’s gaze. Inexplicably she felt her face flush and found herself unable to move as she watched his eyes staring intently, burning through the fabric of her skirt. Instinctively she smoothed her hand across the front of her thigh, over the little telltale bump and smiled to herself as Mike shifted in his seat.
Slowly he raised his eyes to her face where he met her steady gaze and held it. For several moments neither of them seemed able to look away.

    Thanks everyone! And yes homecoming book we still wear suspenders and stockings (garter belts) over here in the UK occasionally! (Well I do anyway!)
