Weekend Writing Warriors #69

Hi and welcome to this week's Eight sentences. Today I am continuing with eight from my new release, 'Fevered Kisses' an anthology of lust. This week I am continuing with the second story 'Too Darn Hot' carrying on from where we left off last week:

                                                               MY EIGHT:

“One more hour Miranda then you can go home.” Jamie replied, smiling and flashing a perfect set of white teeth.
Miranda sipped her gin and tonic. It was the middle of July, too hot to dance and too hot to teach it. There were three oscillating fans in the room catching the billowing skirts of the lady dancers as they twirled past, but it wasn’t enough to keep things cool in here.
Outside the sun was blazing down. Miranda thought of her garden and imagined herself taking a swim in the recently restored pool.

“Penny for your thoughts,” Jamie interrupted leaning over the bar to collect two stray bottles.

Six sizzling stories in an anthology of lust from the pen of Gemma Parkes:
·        A notebook carelessly left behind reveals secret liaisons of a most intimate nature.
·        An insatiable woman bites off far more than she can chew when four is certainly not a crowd.
·        Sometimes life is just too darn hot but could cooling down heat things up further?
·        Fevered kisses lead to daring thrills for one hungry couple.
Also, what happens when erotic fantasies occupy too much of your time? Lay back and lose yourself in the sensual mind of one of England’s most imaginative storytellers. Adults only.

  1. Nice scene, Gemma. I'm there right with them listening in and that's what you want from a reader.

  2. Man, it's awfully hot in there and you described it well.

  3. This scene pulled me directly into the bar, the heat, and deeper into her thoughts. Great snippet.

  4. Very nice visuals and sensory details. I imagine fun things happening in that pool.

  5. Nothing like a pool on a hot day... She should invite him to come swimming, too--then she can see him in a bathing suit.

  6. Nicely atmospheric, Gemma. And it left me questions--in a good way. I'd read more. :-)

  7. Loved the visual here. Put the reader right there in the scene. Well done. Now we just have to know if a penny for her thoughts will be enough for her to share her desires. :)

  8. I certainly feel the heat! Loved the detail about the fans stirring the ladies' skirts. Terrific 8!
