Tantalising Tuesday #46

Tantalizing Tuesday

Hi, it's been a few weeks since I last participated in TT as I have been busy writing and editing the season's stories. For those of you new to the concept Tantalizing Tuesday is run by a group of authors who all choose their own picture and write about it using 200 words. Here's mine, enjoy:

                                                FALLING INTO AUTUMN

Maple Leaf On Water by nirots

When did Autumn arrive? Faye looked at the beautiful maple leaf floating on the water’s surface. She walked through this park everyday but she hadn't noticed the leaves changing, hadn't noticed the bite in the air and the expanding conkers on trees around her. Looking up she saw beautiful hues of orange and brown spreading outwards and gaining dominance over the ever diminishing green leaves. Dominance, is that what her relationship with Jake was all about? Did he bully her into doing things for him? Faye sat on a park bench and stared out across the lake. A drake swam past with three ducks. Faye supposed that they were his mates, all of them. And yet he followed them as if he had been allowed to do so. Faye realised that she allowed Jake to take control because she wanted him to. The feel of his protective arms around her meant that she could relax, Jake had everything covered. He didn't bully her, he wasn't cruel, Jake adored her. He fed her, clothed her, showered her with gifts and took her to places sexually that she hadn't deemed possible. With a grin she stood and headed home. Jake would be waiting for her return.

  3. Her solitary moment noticing fall had arrived was a good parallel to her relationship with Jake, realized in her appreciation of him and him anticipating her return.I loved this.

  4. To one of my favorite authors out there, great piece. He never hit her, hurt her, but showed love for the woman.

  5. This was so special a piece. I, too, loved the seasonal transition as the parallel. Most relationships change and evolve. This was a particularly beautiful way to describe it at the drake and ducks displayed. This touched a spot in me deeply and I loved it:) xo

  7. I love stories/teasers that paint a perfect image in my mind! How realization hit her once she watched the drake and the three ducks swim by was magnificent! A fresh sigh. :)

  8. That reflection was so beautiful. You caught the inner mind of the introvert in your tease.
