Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by to read my 60th Six Sentence Post! Wow! Can't believe l've been doing this so long!
Last time we left Mandy with a myserious note, this six are much later in the book and Mandy has taken a boat trip out to a huge house on a small island with John enjoy:
It was a magnificent sight but looked very neglected. Mandy felt her heart sink as she stared at the weather worn shutters and peeling forest green paint. Nobody could possibly live here, she was sure of that now. John sat down on a crumbling brick wall to take a rest and Mandy joined him as together they watched the small group of people who had made the walk with them, head off to the equally neglected gardens.

Great description! :)
ReplyDeleteYour description of the place was vivid and I could visualize and appreciate John's grumble too.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely description Gemma. Great six!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I think I'm with him. I'd probably grumble too. Hope she makes it up to him!
ReplyDeleteHmm, perhaps there's more than meets the eye, or the wrecked house is symbolic. Great six!
ReplyDeleteOoh, but something IS there, right? Looking forward to what happens next!
ReplyDeleteI agree - there is more than meets the eye
ReplyDeleteYour 6 took me right there, fabulous
ReplyDeleteHow sad. You paint a great image with words. Well done, Gemma!
ReplyDeleteGreat description, could just picture it, and I agree with the others about there being something significant about the house.
ReplyDeleteThis has such an air of melancholy, with the crumbling walls and neglected gardens -- and the description of the house as a "monstrosity". I'm intrigued about what will happen next. :)
ReplyDeleteSeems like I would be a little creeped out on this island. Just from the description--great details.
ReplyDeleteI suspect there's more going on with that house :)
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder why she had other expectations and why it matters so much that she was wrong!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought is: What are you doing sitting around? Go explore!! Fun six, Gemma. I'm completely intrigued. :)
